Facebook

Are any of you on Facebook? A friend had photos on there from a trip to Germany, so I joined in order to see them. It's unreal how that works. It has tentacles that reach out and connect people together. Then there are all these groups and things to send to each other. It's sort of in your face, so to speak! I prefer blogs!

I did the same with a couple of them and decided I wasn't going to try to maintain them. the one, Blogspot.com, is enough to keep up with. As it is, I try to comment to as many people as I can and wind up not having time to write a post myself.
Besides, how many profiles does one want to write up? I did hang in with MySpace but don't go there often.

Joy, unfortunately you get idiots like Julian Meteor on Facebook. PC security companies also warn you that it is far easier to steal your identity on Facebook. I think your nice Mr. Obama has found that to his cost.

Give me a blog any time. At least some of the time you get something meaningful.

I'm on Facebook, and like it. It's an easy interface to keep in contact with my friends. I ignore a lot of the requests to join groups, and only pick up apps that I will use and am reasonably sure are not spammers/ID thieves. Feel free to friend me...

I'm with you Joy.
I have a friend on Facebook and joined to see his page, and so on and so on.
I love your description of the tentacles, it is just like that.

After I created my miniscule, picture-less Facebook page, I entered the blogworld, and I prefer it much more. I haven't really been back to Facebook since.

Me too!!! I don't really "get" facebook or myspace. I much prefer blogs...they are so much more personal and you get to know people so much better.

I have a lot of friends on facebook, and I like to chat to them. But I also like blogs. It's sort of like having a phone or a newspaper... One you chat on, the other you read.

I am with you, Auntie Flame! Even though I have joined the "MyBooks" and the "FaceSpaces", I always try to direct people to my blog.

If someone needs to keep in touch with me, all they need to do is read DavidDust.

And I hate all those "Cindy Would Like You To Join Crackheads For Peace!" invitations you get on those things (AKA "tenticles"). It annoys me.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Joy, I have an addictive personality and see that I cannot do Facebook or a blog since I started on your blog an hour or so ago and have gravitated to others from there!

I'm on Facebook and My space but I don't use them much. There's so much you can do that I just avoid it all.
