Grandson

As many of you know, my grandson who is five has Asperger's, which is on the autism spectrum. We're having a hard time with him in school, so I've been preoccupied with that for a while now. I'll tell you more about it later, but for now, please know what a blessing he is for my son and his wife and how difficult this is for them, too. He's definitely loved and cared for.

Their blogs are on my list over there on the right if you want to read what they have to say. My son's is Homologous Trend, and my daughter-in-law's is The Perky Skeptic.

autism is hard. I used to work with kids who had autism, so I know a little bit about it. But they also bring so much joy to their families!!!!

Prayers going your way Dust Bunny!!!

Thanks! He's such a charming, funny, social little boy! Two of his goals are to help him learn impulse control and recognizing boundaries. That means he's disruptive and gets too close to others and sometimes hugs, hits, or such as that. This is what's been going on, so we have to have another meeting. Whew!!

I hope your grandsons school can find ways ways help him.
Good luck with the meeting!

Thank you, iidly and casdok! It's going to be a difficult journey, but we'll do all we can. It helps being a retired teacher to understand what they're saying between the lines and to know our rights.

Thanks again, everyone!!
