McCain on Torture

If John McCain had spoken this way, said other things that he has since the election, and had not been forced to choose Sarah Palin as a running mate, it's likely he might be president now. Palin definitely appealed to the right wingnut evangelicals but scared away reasonable people. When the Republican Party courted that group, it was like planting kudzu which has also taken over the South.

You could very well be right. He really lost his way during the campaign because he bowed to the far right wingers in his choice of Palin, and in other ways. I had already made up my mind by then, but my husband hadn't...when Palin was added to the ticket, that was it for Ken. He couldn't cast a vote for that woman. Love the kudzu analogy.

I'm a little torn on the prosecution issue. In some ways, I think it would be best to move on and make sure it never happens again. On the other hand, I'd like for someone to wipe that creepy, smug smirk off of Cheney's face and see him twist in the wind. :) Hugs, Beth

I don't like to see anyone get by with committing crimes with no consequences. This needs to be investigated and followed through. It's wrong to let them get by with violating the Geneva Convention while we punish other countries for it and get involved in countries for human rights violations. We need to police ourselves, too.

I agree with you on all of this except for one thing- I don't think McCain was FORCED to take Sarah Palin as his running mate. Sad.

Sarah Palin is Kudzu!

I love it!

Now, when I'm ripping the kudzu from my yard I'll do so with renewed vigor!
