Eunice Kennedy Shriver

Eunice Kennedy Shriver died at 88. In the family tradition of public service, Mrs. Shriver founded the Special Olympics and worked for civil rights and treatment for the developmentally disabled. Her brother Senator Ted Kennedy and sister Jean Kennedy Smith are the surviving siblings of that remarkable family along with her husband Sargent Shriver, five children, and grandchildren. God, what a beautiful woman she was.

In a time when women just stayed home and were housewives, she chose a different path.
And a remarkable path it was.

History has repeatedly omitted who I think was, and will be remembered as one of the greatest Kennedy's ever in my mind. None of her brother's could ever rise to her level of intelligence or integrity. Amazing Woman.

Always saw a kinship in looks and temperament with Kate Hepburn. Free spirits. aged much the same way, etc.
