Obama said, "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence." --If Obama only cared that much about the countless babies who died at the hands of that abortionist...
A family member said, "Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today's event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George's friends and patients. This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace." Wow, how about the wombs that all of those babies were in? The womb is supposed to be a safe place of peace for a baby. But that monster would intrude and kill each one of them, with no remorse.
And I do not feel sorry for a family who loved a murderer. And I sure do NOT feel sorry for a church that had no problem allowing a murderer to attend.
She probably agreed with the person who called our clinic to tell us we were shortly to be blown up by a bomb. At the time I was pregnant with the twins and we always had children in the waiting room. That would have been okay though, I'm sure, with her.
@Debra: I am a deeply devoted Christian, pro-life, and as Joy will tell you, sometimes irritatingly conservative in my political and religious views. For the record, I tend to agree with what you said about Obama condemning the Dr.'s death, but not the deaths of the babies. HOWEVER, as much as I might abhor what that Dr. did for a living, he DID NOT deserve to die by the hand of another human. Vengeance is Mine, says God. Check your New Testament--loving sinners is one of the hallmarks of Jesus.
Joy: to answer your question about how murder fits into calling oneself pro-life, the answer is simple: it doesn't.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do To you and me; so take the lively air, And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always. And is near. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.
