The crocodile is surprisingly fast on land. If pursued by a crocodile, a person should run in a zigzag motion, for the crocodile has little or no ability to make sudden changes of direction.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Does that go for alligators also? It's said there are alligators in the sewers of NYC, so I should be prepared :)

Thanks for the info. I shall keep it in mind - despite the fact there are few Crocs in DE.
Somehow, I suspect that if I ever find myself being chased by a crocodile, I sadly will not recall that little piece of trivia!
