I'm so proud of President Obama and our First Lady at the G-20 Summit! That feels great after the way Bush handled himself at those. President and Mrs. Obama are popular and well-received in London. It is wonderful to be represented by them! I got teary watching Michelle's speech and warm reception at the girls' school. Wow!

I agree completely.
It was nice not to flinch, as I've done the last eight years, watching that illiterate bumbling war criminal and his milquetoast, Stepford wife cruise the globe, but instead have a powerful passionate compassionate leader and his brilliant wife.
Her talk at the girl's school was just lovely.
It's magical to watch the two of them on TV woo over Europe. I can so see an Andew Lloyd Webber musical happening based on this...lol.
I agree, watching her speak at the girls school was amazing. what a breath of fresh air for our country.
Peggy Noonan said this morning, on Morning Joe, that it was nice to watch without holding your breath waiting for a possible gaff.
(And the clothes! It is fun to watch the clothes!)
Auntie Flame -
Can you believe it? No neck rubs for the German Chancellor, and no winks at the Queen of England! The rest of the world might stop hating us!!
I am so proud of the United States for electing Barack Obama.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
The President, and First Lady truly represent us as Americans. It's amazing, and touching that we are now shown for what we really are. I'm equally touched that the older generation has shown their true colors and extinguished the racial rift of the past. Bravo President Obama, and First Lady Michelle.
There was talk on the news here about the back touching, but the protocol experts didn't mention that about her subjects. They did say the Queen touched Michelle's back, and that it was OK. We're so happy with a leader who conducts himself properly that we haven't noticed Rudd, Pseudonymph. I'll pay attention now. Oh and his name lends itself to some good puns!
Its weird to be thanful NOT to be embarrassed by our president. How refreshing!
I couldn't agree more with you. I tell you, they remind me of the Kennedy's with the style and manners and the way they carry themselfves, you can tell they are so much in love with each other. And their together because they want to be. They are both just so refreshing!
They are a delightful, intelligent couple. Refreshing indeed! :)
A agree that the Obamas at the G20 were a credit to all Americans who voted for them.
I don't know who Pseudonymph is as there is no blog address on the profile (see comment above) but he/she is way off the mark about Kevin Rudd, the Australian Prime Minister. Why does Rudd have a 74 per cent approval rating among Australians if he is so inept? Get back into your box Pseudnymph.
I do perceive a movement among those who think they were born to rule to spread mistruths about one of the most popular PMs ever here in Oz. They will do anything in an attempt to pull the rug from under someone so successful - and someone doing so well in his efforts to help the little person.
Watch out US of A - Obama will be attacked soon too.
WILL BE, June? He has been since before the election and continues to be. All Republicans in Congress vote "no" for everything he's proposed. Fox News continues to find fault with as much as possible. Rush Limbaugh wants him to fail. And read Debi's blog.
They do remind me of the Kennedys with their style, grace, intelligence, and popularity with the Europeans. It's refreshing and wonderful on many levels.
I think they reflect what most of us as Americans would like the world to think about us.Most of us would like the world to think we are reasonable, willing to help, and compassionate at the grass roots level. It is after all, the grassroots movements that usualy get things done in the world when it comes to helping and sharing with others.
Perhaps that is why it's so hard to help big businesses with our tax money. Business leaders are well off and always careful to pay themselves first. Grassroots people don't like being ripped off involuntarily to help them.
Good point, Charlie!
I am so excited about the Obamas representing our country. We couldn't ask for two smarter, cooler people.
um, that dude in the second picture, with Obama? dude's got some SERIOUS lipstick on. eeewww.
