Joy: A smiley face on a teacher not quite close enough to vacation. Vaklam...didn't know you were a star watcher...astrology too? Chris: Is that a Vulcan term?
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do To you and me; so take the lively air, And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always. And is near. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.

It's a near conjunction of Jupiter and Venus with a crescent moon nearby.
A divergent lunar meniscus?

We went out the other night to see that. We can have weeks of fog and low skies in winter so we were happy to get a clear night. Very kewl!
Vaklam: Right you are, Monkey Boy!
Chris: Say what?
Charlie: Sounds about right to me. An upside down frowny face but a smiley face in the southern hemisphere.
FP: I saw it when I was driving and then went out and looked for it a few more times. Kewl for sure!
I completey made that up on the spot - it was just how I was rolling at that point in time.
The smiling sky. There are a few copies on Flickr.
