Book Quizzes

Thanks to Bob where I found these. His books are doom and gloom, but he has a neat new header photo.

Let the comments begin! LOL Guess we know why I've been single so many decades! Let me know yours if you take these.

You're Love in the Time of Cholera!

by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Like Odysseus in a work of Homer, you demonstrate undying loyalty by sleeping with as many people as you possibly can. But in your heart you never give consent! This creates a strange quandary of what love really means to you. On the one hand, you've loved the same person your whole life, but on the other, your actions barely speak to this fact. Whatever you do, stick to bottled water. The other stuff could get you killed.

And we know about my sense of humor!

You're Much Ado About Nothing!

by William Shakespeare

You're not really sure what all the fuss is about, but it seems like it's all a lot of overreaction. Light and playful, you tend to be the one making dirty jokes in the corner, or even in front of a whole bunch of people. You end up being more or less unable to keep a straight face, even when something serious seems to be on the line. Despite this, you still have something to say about gender equality. In the end, you're just looking for a hero.

Doom and gloom?
I took the first one to me, that although the journey may be dark, i do tend to look for the light, or at least, know there is light out there.
And foir the other, well, I think all gay people have felt unseen and unheard in their lives.
See? I'll find the positive!

As for the new header photo, I never knew I could have a header photo. That's how blogger/computer illiterate I am!

I'm *To Kill A Mockingbird*

>>Perceived as a revolutionary and groundbreaking person, you have
changed the minds of many people. While questioning the authority around you, you've
also taken a significant amount of flack. But you've had the admirable guts to
persevere. There's a weird guy in the neighborhood using dubious means to protect you,
but you're pretty sure it's worth it in the end. In the end, it remains unclear to you
whether finches and mockingbirds get along in real life.<<

I'm kind of concerned about the weird guy in the neighborhood...

Oh Auntie Flame, you'll enjoy this one. I'm so shocked! I got Lolita!
by Vladimir Nabokov. Considered by most to be depraved and immoral, you are obsessed with sex. What really tantalizes you is that which deviates from societal standards in every way, though you admit that this probably isn't the best and you're not sure what causes this desire. Nonetheless, you've done some pretty nefarious things in your life, and probably gotten caught for them. The names have been changed, but the problems are real. Please stay away from children. Why I never.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO-
Maddie

You made lemonade out of yours, Bob. That second one definitely got it right.

Yours sounds accurate, too, Mrs M and Froggy!

Oh, Maddie!!! I'll be laughing about that one for weeks! It's like they don't know you at all, isn't it? LOL xoxoxoxo I'll bet Dan gets that one, too!!!

For the first one, I got the same as you, Love in the Time of Cholera. but for the second one, I got:

You're Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!
by Hunter S. Thompson
Crazy, wild, and disillusioned, you mask your feelings of utter despair with a free-spirited willingness to try anything. Though others warn against your propensity to self-medicate with illicit substances, you insist that this is the only rational response to the madness of the world around you. Firmly believing the American dream to be a nightmare, you seem to be on a mission to make that nightmare as gory, gruesome, and repugnant as possible. If your life were a movie, you'd be played by Johnny Depp.

I'd rather play *with* Johnny Depp, thankyouverymuch...
