I agree with both, but the second one rings very true here in the South. People talk about eing goo because of what they'll "get" for it; I've heard it said, somehwre, that we should be good for goodness sake.

We really do need to be good for goodness' sake, as Bob said, not for a reward or for fear of punishment.
I know! I wouldn't change my morals and behavior if I thought there were a Heaven and Hell or God and Devil. They aren't based on fear but on doing what I think is right.
