Da Blooze!

Look at THIS. I want to go. The Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival is always near my birthday, so I think of it as a celebration for me, too. B. B. King, Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Marcia Ball, and Paul Thorn will all be performing! Finding accommodations is turning out to be a challenge. We'll probably have to stay at Tunica where all those casinos are. Before, I stayed in Clarksdale, MS, which is about the same distance from Helena, AR, but Tunica is north and closer to Memphis and on our way home. Might just work. The rooms are cheaper, too, because of the gambling which I won't do because we know how that works out for me.

Was front row for BB at TPAC and all I can say is magic. Was lucky enough to be at one of his birthday parties down on the riverfront and let's just say it involved levitation. GO!!

Sounds like fun. I'm happy I found your blog. I'm from 100 miles north of Memphis, marched in parades in Humboldt Strawberry Festival in high school. I like your blog; you think like I do, according to your buttons! Annie

Do you see the resemblance in Annie Joy's photo to you? Like a sister.
We are just swamped with Bluegrass festivals in Maine this summer and they draw big attendances...even the smallest towns. Pretty much it's not my calling- for me whatever happened to Gilbert & Sullivan, light opera, etc I am definitely in a small pocket of the arts. Good artists but akes ne think of Bates College and the oldies they have every year...like Odetta- certainly admirable in so many ways but obviously a little road weary.
Well yu are working up to being a road trekky. Maybe you will be the driver all the way this time then come home and try to figure out who you are for two weeks this time. Can't be said you wasted your time on planet earth though. I love your enthusiasm.
