Dedicated on May 2, 1997, the monument, spread over 7.5 acres, traces twelve years of the history of the United States through a sequence of four outdoor rooms, one for each of FDR's terms of office. I've never been there but plan to go the next time I'm in DC.
Nobody matches Franklyn and Eleanor-nobody. It won't be long before D.C. will be all memorials, including the capitol buildings, and the city will still be crime ridden and broke as usual from the neglect of Congress, wherever it is. It is also so huge, how do they find the space for yet another memorial? It was one of the few places in the country when I was traveling as a psychic lecturer that I had such bad vibes, I couldn't take it.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do To you and me; so take the lively air, And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always. And is near. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.

I never knew there was an FDR memorial. I'd love to see it.
My MIL said, when growing up, she thought FDR was King because he always there all her life.
My favorite president, too. These quotes are especially meaningful now as they were then. Wish more people felt that way.
