House Blend Dinner

Hollemy had the last House Blend Dinner for the year, and it was delicious! Here is the menu that can be embiggened.

Brian's birthday is Tuesday the 30th, so this was his birthday celebration. He'll be 40, so I gave him a card that said for him to live it up like he did in his wild youth. Inside the card said, "Play an album" which is about right.

Here's a picture of the Birthday Boy and Chef Holly.

Paige and Brian

Okra Pancakes

Shepherd's Pie (not that photogenic but absolutely delicious)

Chicken dish

Tina does not like to have her picture taken.

Sweet Potato Crisp

I had the Biscuits and Ham, Spinach Salad, and Shepherd's Pie. No dessert because I couldn't eat all of that and took about half of it home and just finished eating it. The Shepherd's Pie had beef, English peas, carrots, tomatoes, lentils, onions, and some other ingredients covered in mashed potatoes with garlic and cheddar cheese. It was delicious!

Brendan is so funny when he orders. He reads every word of the dish and description and usually gets it all right except this time when he said, "Australian greens and picked turnips" along with the rest of it.

After years of never hearing the dish mentioned at all (I mean since I was in elementary school!) now this is the second time in a week. Shepherd's Pie - on Top Chef and on Joy's blog.

Yes, Maddie. I have seen those up close and personal even though it's been a long time ago!

I was going to delete that follower but can't figure out how to do it. I guess it's OK .... I can go to that site and refresh my memory!

I finally found out how to block them and did it. That took way too long.

Woa, I knew that I shouldn't read this post. I am on a diet. Now I am hungry as hell. Hubby better get busy because those Okra pancakes look of the hook. And the Shepherd's pie a dream. Bless you always in your relationship with your son. Beautiful!

Yes, that meal does look filling. I probably would not be able to finish it, either.

Glad you had such a great time, Joy!

Those okra pancakes look great !! I'm gonna have to go to Google for a recipe for that !!

They tasted like fried okra, which I also like as well as the boiled slimy kind.

I got to enjoy that shepherd's pie again the next day.
