Bat Building

Occasionally I feel compelled to show you the Bat Building in Nashville. Actually it's the AT&T Building, but we call it that because it looks like Batman. See?

Read more about it HERE and HERE.

Does it shine a searchlight into the sky?

Unfortunately, no. That would be cool if it did.

It's a weird building - from certain angles it looks very short and from others quite tall.

Didn't it used to have the 3 stars from the TN state flag instead of the logo of that evil, worst-cell-phone-service-ever-providing company?

I used to work in the shorter R2D2-like black building to the north (northeast?), and lived right on 2nd Ave with a nice view of the river . . . in fact I bet my old apt. is in pic #3. At that time (1996-97) people thought it odd that I lived downtown and walked to work. I'm sure that's not the case any longer with all the new residential development that's gone on since.

Cool pics - thanks for posting Joy.

Very cool building! When I look at the shots, I have the Batman theme playing in my head!

Amazing what people can accomplish when they but their mind to work for beauty instead of hate. Great building. It does look very Gothic.

Joy it looks quite Gothic, but with modern sensibilities. It does remind me of batman.

Love, Love this building. After driving all these years I've learned to recognize cities by the downtown structures.
Never thought of it being the Bat building, cool!
