The Economy = Wolf?

I don't pretend to know enough about the economy to discuss it intelligently. It is a complicated house of cards that is precarious right now. I do know that unregulated greed is at the root of our current problems. So when George W. Bush gets on television and tells us that we are in peril and that unless we do something or we'll be in ruin, I'm skeptical. Without saying the word, he's implying that we could have another Great Depression. This might be true. I don't know. What I do know is that Bush has been wrong about almost everything he's told us. He was wrong about the weapons of mass destruction. He was wrong to invade Iraq instead of staying in Afghanistan. He was wrong not to catch Osama Bin Laden. He was wrong about what to do about Katrina. He was wrong to appoint many of the members of his cabinet and administration.

So is it a surprise that many of us don't believe him now? He's cried wolf so many times before that we don't know if this is a real wolf or not. Or if he is the wolf at the door.

I see I'm not alone in thinking this.

I was relieved to hear from Josh today- he handles my retirement fund and assured me that his company didn't get into all that home securities business, that they are solid, and as he said, my accounts are not affected by rising and falling market rates. He will bring my annual report Monday to show that my money is all safe and even made a little this year. Precious little.
next I'll ask him if he's a Democrat
