Squeamish

When I was perusing photos of Niagara Falls to post on my blog, some of them gave me that scary feeling in my stomach and feet I get when driving over some bridges. I think I'd like to see it in person but am not sure I could get on one of those boats that go near it. I'm pretty sure I'd white-knuckle being on that bridge and tower thing. I sort of hyperventilated just looking at the pictures. See what I mean? Have any of you been there? How did it make you feel?

I have been there a couple of times. On the boat, I believe they call it Queen of the falls, I thought they were talking about me.

Took a walking tour under the falls as well, it is very cool. I remember as a child standing under them and the guide telling me that if I were to stick my hand in the water it would rip it off and pull me over.

not sure if it was true, but as a kid it scared the hell out of me!

That scares me now just having you tell me about it. Yikes!! I'll die there for sure.

Queen of the Mist? LOL! You crack me up, too!

I've been there a couple of times. The Canadian side is really nice - and everyone stands behind a nice sturdy rail and looks at the falls - which are RIGHT THERE in front of you. They are very powerful, but not scary. I am squeemish about things like that too - and I had no problems at all.

However, I was WAY too chicken to get on one of those damn boats. No WAY, No HOW, No BOAT.

OK, then, I might be able to do it, too. The boats are way too scary, though! I'm with you about those.

these are really beautiful pictures.Dramatic, crystal clear(you can see forever)
I have climbed Katahdin every way you can and the knife edge( narrow trail with just foot space and 2,000 foot drop on either side of you) is really scary. Chimney rock trail is a straight up climb and has two chalk rocks you have to climb OUT, over, and upside down with nothing under you, depending on your ropes- now that's scary.
But I still have a fear of heights and have nightmares of being on the edge of skyscrapers about to fall over, or climbing infinite walls, too tired to go on, and too scared to let go. On the buildings it seems as if the edges rush up on me and I can't stop the momentum.

I've been to the Falls a couple of times and ridden on the Maid of the Mist boats. Since I got seasick on a whale watch in Cape Cod, and queasy on the ferry ride to Nantucket (same trip, I'm a slow learner) I was not optimistic. But oddly I was not sick on the Falls tour. It was pretty cool and I enjoyed being behind the Falls, but it was cold the because we were there in the early fall the first time.

I'd recommend it at least once.
