I'll blog about the movies I've been watching tonight. As you know, I'm trying to see all of the nominated movies I can before the Oscars. I've already seen Frost/Nixon, and this weekend I saw The Wrestler, Revolutionary Road, and Slumdog Millionaire. Today I'm going to see The Reader. Next in line are Doubt, Milk, Benjamin Button, Vicky Christina Barcelona and The Visitor (now on DVD). I'll blog about them tonight.
Did any of you see the BAFTA's last night? Slumdog swept them! Kate Winslet won for The Reader and Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler. Penelope Cruz and Heath Ledger won for supporting roles.
Did you watch the Grammys? I watched most of it except for the parts I dozed during, so I missed some after the first hour off and on. Need to learn not to watch TV lying down! (even though I can nap in my computer chair)
More later!! Gotta get ready to drive to Nashville and sit in another movie theater!

I look forward to reading your impressions on The Reader. I haven't seen it yet, but the book, which I read a number of years ago, was excellent.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
I'd really like to know how you liked Slumdog Millionaire as it's the only one I've seen, so far.
My son has a copy of Milk, so I'll try to see it in the next little while.
I'll do it later this afternoon. I have a homebound student to teach and some errands.
I didn't realize Milk was already on DVD.
We usually see the nominated films after the Oscars, when they come out on DVD from Netflix. We did see "Milk" in the theatre and thought Sean Penn did an incredible job.
Milk isn't out on DVD yet. DS got it from a friend in the biz. :-)
Even Kim saw it with her Girls Night Out gang. she was very impressed..this a gal who watches the dumb ass movies I wouldn't go near. This a gal who won't read my blogs because they're too long and too serious.
and speaking of stupid, I'm watching John Cena, WWE champion and hero, in his first movie-the Marine. so bad it's on tv almost the day after it was on the marguees. Y'know, Rambo crap. but I had to roll cigarettes anyway.
