My doctor said it's a bacterial infection - probably strep. I'm taking Keflex for that. He said he was treating it aggressively so also prescribed Bactrim in case there's some staph. This sounds serious. I'm to keep my foot elevated above my heart, so I won't be on the computer that often. I'm a mine canary when it comes to prescription meds, so wish me luck with these and no side-effects.
Dr said these are quite common, but I would like to know how I got it. Strange and painful.

Ouch!!! Glad you are under dr. care and he's being aggressive. Take care!
I've never heard of "Strep Foot"!!! Only you, Auntie Flame!!!
Take care of yourself! Sleep it off!

I'm already sort of bored. It's not a good position to read, but I can watch TV and be on my Blackberry.
Strep foot! LOL Miss Ginger!!
Thanks, Mrs. Miss A and Froggy, I'm glad I went to the dr, too!!!
I'm calling it strep foot but found out it's called cellulitis. Ironic now that my blood sugar is in the normal range and I'm losing weight that I get something that diabetics are at high risk for. Ironic = pisses me off
Take care of yourself Joy.

So glad that your doing better, yep I've heard of almost everything but not Strep Foot.
I dunno about you but I have often problems with foot in mouth syndrome...think about it...anything close to that lately?
