our christmas was bittersweet with the passing of tony's beloved grandmother. my goal in the new year is to get a career that is not as soul sucking as teaching is and that will allow me time to have a life.
for new year's we are inviting friends over to have a wii bowling tournament.
First goal is to remember to buy stamps to get out New Years cards...
Then to take care of some health issues and get back to volunteering as I don't expect the school district to get any more dollars. They are running a $98 million dollar bond in a town of 30k and fighting a huge battle between the board and the super - confidence is looooow.
MMA: Sad about Tony's grandmother and always sadder during family holidays. I hope you find a job you enjoy. Teaching has changed too much in bad ways and needs to get back to what works. Your New Year's sounds like fun!
DM: That sounds grim indeed ... and way to familiar!
My Christmas was very nice and relaxing, but as you can imagine we ate and drank way to much! Resolutions? None here, except to continue living life at the banquet! I'll be hosting my usual new years eve dinner for a few friends, opting to stay in instead of heading out. More drink for all! Cheers to you Auntie Flame-enjoyed your greeting too!
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do To you and me; so take the lively air, And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always. And is near. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.

No resolutions for me. Oddly I'm pretty happy now that HRH has returned to her new home.
I never do resolutions anymore! Not firm plans yet but might be hanging with some musical friends.
Christmas was pretty good but my daughter is away with her mom, so I really missed her a lot!
Had a blast with my newest nephew. Bill enjoyed being there too.
Great holiday time.
