Jerry Reed died this week of complications from emphysema. He was 71 and had been a funny, energetic, award-winning performer. Some of you might remember him from the Smokey and the Bandit movies. His song "East Bound and Down" was featured in the movie. He also wrote and recorded "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "Amos Moses," "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)," "Guitar Man," and many others. Other movies he was in are Gator and The Waterboy.
I remember his tour bus from back when I was a Cougar.

Oh, my husband is going to be heart-broken.
I recognize the picture but not much about him, but I'm not much into country. I do recall the movie- a kind of comic sidekick role in most of his films wasn't he? Handsome man in a rugged way and a very charismatic presence.
HOLD THE PRESS!!! you were a COUGAR?? Just what kind of cougar are we talkin about here?... ;)
I knew you'd pick up on that, Beth! LOL Hey! Just what kind of Cougar would a Dust Bunny be? The fun kind, of course!
Yep, I was a Cougar; now I'm a Polar Bear.
That's right, Charlie.
He will be missed, Shonda.
I had the pleasure of meeting him once in passing, he was a nice regular kind of guy. I always enjoyed listening to him sing.
