By Any Other Name
This is another silly little quiz thing but sort of fun. I'll do anything to avoid work but am going to turn this thing off soon for the rest of the day! We'll see, right? LOL

Okay, so I'm supposed to be paying bills and cleaning out the fridge!
And, of course, I went to the name thing.
I won't post it all but
>>You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.<<
I like that. One of the reasons I'm in education is so that I can keep on learning (or relearning in the case of physics...)
>>You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic “Type A” personality.<<
HA! That is one of the reasons I am *not* in the classroom with 30 kids as I am not authoritative and type A. I'm considered too mellow and too student focused and I agree with that assessment. I can tolerate a lot of noise and whackiness as long as it is productive. Skateboarding as physics does not pass the state standards pass or die test.
Sigh. Can I edit my post? 'is so that I' AK! :-)
That's what I like better about Haloscan - I can edit and delete comments. I wish I could on these.
I went over to your blog to see what you do in education and enjoyed reading it. You are now on my blog list. I'm a retired teacher, so we have several things in common.
Oh, I'm not an authoritative type either. What you do in that case is make your personality work for you. I rarely had discipline problems and tolerated busy noise, too. With 11th grade English, literature has to be discussed in order to model analysis and support of statements. Sometimes it got lively.
Once when I taught US History, two grade boys almost got in a fight when we had some kind of role-playing over whether to have national banks or not. They had prepared their cases and felt passionately about it. After I calmed them down, I told them that would be a strange thing to have to say to the principal when asked why they were fighting. I wonder what they are doing now? This debate could go on.
Mine too was long. I used the formal Charles. I sort of felt they hit the mark generally. The others look like they might be fun to try too.
At least with your public image they nailed you Joy Dahlink.
Awww, thanks!
