The orchid releases a chemical that makes bees drunk. When the bee becomes disoriented, it dumps its load of pollen into the flower, thus pollinating the flower.
My mom has a collection of at least 28 orchids. One of them called the tiger orchid is the most sensuous flower that I have ever seen. She has a fuchsia one that the color is so vibrant that you think that you are seeing two colors. Amazing. However I am allergic to them. Every time that I go to visit the section of her garden where they are I broke out in hives all over my arms and legs.
